HMS: You must have been relieved that the issues continued to be released digitally, as well as collected in print trade. But at the same time, it’s not quite what you originally wanted and planned. Did it take a while to accept the situation? DC: It was rough at first. Sure. But ultimately I just want to tell good stories regardless of the format. It’s easy to take this job for granted sometimes. I started working on Ghost Fleet way back in 2007, and if you told me then that the book would get eight issues at Dark Horse followed by two trades I would be over the moon. Getting a book cut short is, of course, a blow, but at the end of the day I got to tell the story I wanted to tell, with a group of incredible artists and an amazing support team of editors. I learned a lot telling this story, and I feel like I’m a better writer for it. Dark Horse is incredibly supportive of my creator owned books (The Paybacks is on sale September 16th!) and of storytelling in general. They let me finish my story, and I’ll always be grateful for the experience.

Issues Vol. 5 | The Mind Reels

Funny, packing an emotional punch and filled with a great, animation style of art, this is a series to watch. Everything ties together, things hinted at in the first issue pay off by the end of the sixth, and sets up the rest of the series (if there is one really nicely).

Review: GONERS Vol. 1: We All Fall Down - Slack Jaw Punks

Looking for something a bit different in the comics realm? Not your mom’s horror-comedy/historic fantasy romp? Jacob Semahn and Jorge Corona have got your number. All at once fresh and familiar, the first volume of Semahn and Corona’s Goners series pulls out all the stops, deftly juggling fantasy, suspense, adventure and humor without missing a single beat.

PICK OF THE WEEK: 'Goners Vol. 1: We All Fall Down' by Jacob Semahn and Jorge Corona |Spartantown

Goners is an entertaining supernatural adventure with all the whimsy and danger of Goonies, Hellboy and Spielberg's best combined. It reads fast, looks great and a must buy.

Myth And Mortals Collide in "Goners Vol. 1: We All Fall Down" Review - Geeks With WivesGeeks With Wives

Goners will horrify you in more ways than one and make you cry as you realize it’s almost over. A sign of a good comic is always wanting more and after reading Goners nothing would make me happier than to spend more time with the Latimers and their monsters.

Goners #6 - HorrorTalk

He takes this seemingly lackluster ending and then cranks it up to eleven in a pulse-pounding conclusion that really drives the story home.  It's big.  It's epic.  It's crazy.

REVIEW: 'Goners' #6 by Jacob Semahn and Jorge Corona |Spartantown

The first arc wraps up in a crescendo of action which has been the series staple from issue one. A frenetic joyride with more twists than a pretzel.

Review: Goners #6 - Comic Bastards

This was a solid issue to wrap up the story. It was fast-paced, but wasn’t overwhelming. There were some badass moments with and some feel-good moments to make it a proper ending.

Comic Book Review: Goners #6

Goners is a coming of age story, but with supernatural intrigue, badass monsters, and just enough gore and chills to make horror fans smile.

"Goners #6" is a bonafide thriller- REVIEW - Geeks With WivesGeeks With Wives

Semahn and company tap into our subconscious and take us back to our younger selves before the weight of the world squeezed out any childlike wonder from our souls. Goners is that adventure we always yearned for to save the world and become the hero in our mind.

Multiversity Comics » Comics Should Be Cheap! (3/25/2015)

One of my favorite recent Image books wraps up the first arc of its story and it looks to be a good one. “Goners” has consistently showed a lot of heart in the characters, while building an interesting world with lots of history. I can only hope the team will get to tell many more stories set in the “Goners” universe.

Advanced Review: Goners #6 - All-Comic.com

Being the finale of this arc, these artists delivered an epic ending that could only befit such a intense series like Goners.
Jorge Corona continues to astound me in this immensely fun and intriguing epic. Every issue makes me crave more, and every time I’m rewarded with Feathers brilliant grace. It looks like a dark road ahead for our hero, and it should be interesting to see if his questions will be answered and his past revealed.

Goners #5 - HorrorTalk

I found myself looking at these pages and thinking, "No, they can't be doing this. Please don't be doing this." But I couldn't turn away. The creators have pulled me in. I'm deeply invested in these characters and I want them to avoid the supernatural train wreck that they're barreling towards at full speed...but I don't think that's in the cards just yet. I mean, the comic is called Goners for a reason, right?

After binge reading the last four issues of this series, it’s mind boggling to me how I overlooked it in the first place.
Goners #5 ($2.99) – “Goners” continues to be another Image book that doesn’t get the love it deserves. The creative team continues to make a story that sticks out from the crowd and is slowly building to something big.
